Who’s the idiot who forgot to lock out purchases on the tablet I let Miss 5 use? Sigh.
My own fault, of course. I’m very familiar with the tools available, I just didn’t really think about it. All the usual tired parent excuses!
That said, it’d be very nice to see some sort of automated function, like “we’ve noticed a lot of auto-approved purchases on games oriented towards children, so we’ve locked your Play Store purchasing to password/biometrics approval until you confirm these transactions”.
That’s be pretty thoughtful. (A little too thoughtful for a profit-focused merchant, of course…)
To my little girl’s credit, she was deeply remorseful after I (politely) explained to her what had happened, and I made sure to be clear that it was my fault for not safeguarding against it.
She even offered to give me her pocket money! I love her sweet little heart. (Even though she’s an absolute tyrant a lot of the time. 😂)
Anyway. Play Store now properly locked down!
